          3 day chimpanzee trekking safari in Nyungwe national Park


          Being one of the largest montane forest in Africa, Nyungwe Forest was established in 2004 and covers an area of over 970km2 of various vegetation cover including; bamboo, grassland, rain forest, bogs as well as swamps. This park also encompasses mount Bigugu which is located within the borders of the park. Nyungwe National park has over 13 primate species including ; the famous chimpanzees, as well as the Angola Colobus monkeys, L’Hoest’s monkey, silver monkey, Red tailed monkey, vervet monkeys as well as olive monkey, 1068 plant species, 38 reptile species, 32 amphibians, 85 mammal species, and 275 bird species. The park is on a maximum altitude of 3000m above sea level.

          Day 1: Arrival and transfer to Nyungwe National Park
          Upon your arrival, the company guide will pick you from the airport or from your hotel in Kigali city and start your transfer to Nyungwe National Park, this park is common for chimpanzee trekking as well as golden monkey tracking. There will also be an option of visiting the old‘s king’s place which is located in Nyanza and you will also enjoy your lunch here before continuing to the park. Upon your arrival, check in to your lodge for dinner and an overnight.

           Day 2: Enjoy Chimpanzee trekking in the forest
          Have breakfast early in the morning, your guide will drive you to the park head quarters to have a briefing about the dos and the don’ts of chimpanzee trekking in Nyungwe National Park. This trek starts at exactly 6:00am and enter the forest to search for the primate species. Have a chance to come eye to eye with the chimps and many monkey species including the silver monkeys, red tailed monkeys, vervet monkeys, olive monkeys as well as the grey cheeked mangabey.the trek will also give you a chance to view many bird species . You will have some good time with the chimpanzees and watch them as the play, feed, and take care of their young ones. After the trek, proceed to your accommodation as you prepare to enjoy a guided walk within the park to view some other wildlife species

Enjoy your lunch in the city before being driven to the airport for your departure flight.
