15 Days Eastern and Northern Cultural Tour to Uganda
With our cultural safaris we take you to the remote virgin areas full of exciting culture that hasn’t been exploited. These trips are for those who love and more interested in knowing about other cultures, people and their ways of life
Day 1: ARRIVAL
Arrival ath Entebbe Airport where you will be welcomed by Able Safaris representative and transferred to your hotel. Overnight at Protea Hotel Entebbe/Cassia Lodge/Namirembe Guest House.
Day 2:
After a morning breakfast, you will go for the city Cultural Buganda tour where you will visit the Kabaka’s lake that is believed to be man-made, then to Lubiri Palace in Mengo you will then continue to Namugongo shrines where the young Uganda Martyrs who were burnt life because of religion by the orders of King Mwanga.  Overnight at Protea Hotel Entebbe/Cassia Lodge/Namirembe Guest House.
Day 3:
You will visit all the Buganda Cultural Sites in the city including Naggalabi Corronation Site which is the beginning site for the Buganda Kingdom, continue to Kasubi Tombs and Wamala tombs the  burial places for the Baganda Kings and then visit the palaces of some Kings in Buganda. Overnight at Protea Hotel Entebbe/Cassia Lodge/Namirembe Guest House.
Day 4: Jinja –Sipi Falls
Leaving Jinja we will continue to Sipi Falls passing Mbale, a charming town at the foot of the Mount Elgon. Mbale area is well known for the strong culture for example circumcision that occurs bi-annually during leap years. We shall proceed to Sipi Village which is located in the mountains and waterfalls. Dinner and overnight at Sipi River Lodge/Lacam Lodge

 
 Day 5: Sipi Falls
After breakfast, you will go hiking to the lovely Sipi Falls which is a series of three waterfalls. You will enjoy the walk to the bottom of the famous waterfall lying on the edge of Mt Elgon you will continue to the caves, then go throught the plantations, crops and typical bandas. After lunch and some relaxation, you will tour the Coffee Project in Sipi Falls while interaction with the farmers. Dinner and overnight at Sipi River Lodge/Lacam Lodge
Note: It’s adventurous to visit Sipi Falls and the flow of water is more during the rain/wet season and less during the dry season.
Day 6: Sipi Falls- Kitgmu
We shall then go to the Northern region passing through different unique landscapes to Kitgum a region with also a different unique culture. You will have a stopover for an overnight. Dinner and overnight at Boma Guest House/Four Seasons.
Day 7: Kitgum Cultural tour.
You will visit one of the once homes of Idi Amin the Ex-President of Uganda which is located in the mountain with a famous chair that he built out of the rock. Then you will visit other cultural sites and local communities, market and homes. Dinner and overnight at Boma Guest House/Four Seasons.
Day 8: Kitgum - Kidepo Valley National Park
We shall then drive to Kidepo Valley National Park; the park well known for its rich game, uniqueness and virgin culture.  After lunch, you will have an evening game drive. Dinner and overnight at Apoka Lodge/Nga’Moru Wilderness Camp/UWA Bandas.
Day 9: Game Drive & Nature Walk
You will have another interesting game drive which will give you an opportunity to spot a variety of animals including the tree climbing lions. After lunch, you will have a culture walk which will enable you to explore the virgin culture of the Karamanjong. Dinner and overnight at Apoka Lodge/Nga’Moru Wilderness Camp/UWA Bandas.
Day 10:
You will then continue to Gulu after lunch you will have a walk to the street, go to the market place, visit Lacor hospital and the IDP Camp sites. Dinner and Overnight at the Boma Hotel/Hotel Pearl Afrique
Day 11:
You will visit Baker’s fort called Fort Patiko founded by Sir Samuel Baker and its located 32 km north of Gulu town. A site that is memorable for slave trade and was taken over by the Arabs Slave Traders in 1872 from Sir Samuel Baker. Dinner and Overnight at the Boma Hotel/Hotel Pearl Afrique
Day 12:
You will they continue to Murchison Falls National Park with and evening game drive. Dinner and Overnight at Paraa Lodge/Nile Safari Lodge/Sambiya Lodge/Red Chili
Day 13: Game drive & Boat Trip
Go for an early morning game drive on the northern bank. With the help of the guide, you will spot elephant, lion, Roth child’s giraffe, Cape buffalo, waterbuck, hartebeest, bushbuck, if you are lucky the leopard and other animals. After lunch go for a boat safari upstream the calm Victoria Nile to the base of the falls stopping just tens of meters from the ‘Devil’s Cauldron’. You will spot the hippos, crocodiles and over the 17km stretch you may see waterbuck, elephant and Uganda Kob. You will also have an opportunity to view many bird species like goliath heron, Egyptian goose, pelican bee-eater, kingfisher, hornbill, cormorant and the rare shoebill stork. Dinner and Overnight at Paraa Lodge/Nile Safari Lodge/Sambiya Lodge/Red Chili
Day 14:
You will transfer to Kampala. Overnight at Le Petit Hotel/Cassia Lodge/Namirembe Guest House.
Day 15: DEPARTURE
You will transfer to the airport to catch your flight back home
