          6 Days Zanzibar Blue Safari
This 5 night add-on trip to Zanzibar includes 3 nights relaxing beside a long, white beach on the east coast of the island, before 2 nights exploring the fascinating Swahili culture of Stone Town; at both places, you stay in first-rate locations which are superb value for money. This trip can either be combined as an add-on to a safari in Tanzania or as a stand-alone beach holiday. Include:
          Days: 1-3
Arrive in Dar es Salaam before connecting onto a domestic flight to Zanzibar Airport, from which you often have lovely aerial views of the island. You are met and driven for an hour directly to the east coast, and your beach hideaway Pongwe Beach Hotel.
Spend a relaxing 3 nights here: lounge by the infinity pool overlooking the ocean, swim from the beach, or head off diving or snorkeling.
          Days: 4-5
A car collects you from Pongwe to drive you across the island for about an hour. Absorb the atmosphere and aromas of the island’s colourful small towns and villages as you head to the maze of Zanzibar’s Old Town, and the heart of Swahili culture. Discover the old mosques and Arab houses which have doors adorned with carvings as you meander through the alleys of Stone Town during you 2 nights at the Dhow Palace Hotel.
          Day: 6
You rise around dawn on your last day, to transfer to Zanzibar Airport before boarding your onward flight to Dar es Salaam. This beach holiday includes • All domestic travel and transfers in Africa.
          • A comprehensive pack of information covering the places that you’ll be visiting
          • A complementary copy of the Bradt Travel Guide to Zanzibar, Pemba & Mafia. This beach holiday excludes
          • Any international flights to/from Dar.
          • The cost of arranging visas – currently (Dec 2013) holders of British passports do need a visa for Tanzania, which can be obtained through the Tanzanian High Commission in London prior to travel.
          • Drinks are not included during your beach holiday.
          • Tips and gratuities, which are optional.
