Day 1: Dar es Salaam – Pangani
Pick up from your hotel in Dar es Salaam and drive
with packed lunch to Pangani. The small town of Pangani which is on the river
of the same name is rich in culture and history as it was one of the centers of
the slave caravans during the slave trade years. Presently, Pangani is well
known for its pristine beaches which are off the beaten trek since very few tourists
venture this way. Enjoy the sun and sand and overnight at beach lodge in
Pangani.
DAY 2 + 3: Pangani
Enjoy two full days exploring the
beaches and small settlements in Pangani. Overnight at beach lodge in Pangani.
Day 4: Pangani – Saadani National Park
After breakfast drive to Saadani National Park with packed
lunch. Saadani is also famous for “where the bush meets the beach”, being the
only National Park having a beach as its boundary. Afternoon safari drives
within the park and overnight at lodge in Saadani National Park on full board basis.
Day 5: Saadani
Wake up early and delve into an
early morning walking safari within
Saadani National Park. Return to lodge for breakfast and depart with packed
lunch for further safari drives within the park. Overnight at lodge in Saadani National Park on
full board basis.
Day 6: Saadani – Bagamoyo
After breakfast, depart for the
historic Coastal town of Bagamoyo the
original capital of German East Africa and one of the first and important
trading ports along the coastline of Tanzania.
The town is abundant with historical monuments comprising of old Arab and
Portuguese architecture further complimented by a wonderful stretch of beach.
Overnight at lodge in Bagamoyo on
full board basis.
Day 7: Bagamoyo
Wake up for a very early breakfast
and indulge yourself into various activities from walking around the town
exploring old ruins or relax on the beach and enjoy the sun and sand. Overnight
at lodge in Bagamoyo on
full board basis.
Day 8: Bagamoyo – Kilwa
After breakfast, set off for Kilwa
with packed lunch. Kilwa comprises of Kilwa Kivinje, Kilwa Masoko and
Kilwa Kisiwani (island). During medieval times, Kilwa was once a thriving
trading town in international trade in gold and commodities therefore it is very
rich in history, culture and architecture. Presently, it is a well known area
for game fishing. Overnight at lodge in Kilwa on full board basis.
Day 9: Kilwa
Full day in Kilwa exploring the area and
enjoying various activities provided by the lodge. Overnight at lodge in Kilwa
on full board basis.
Day 10: Kilwa
Full day in Kilwa exploring the area
and enjoying various activities provided by the lodge. Overnight at lodge in
Kilwa on full board basis.
Day 11: Kilwa – Dar es Salaam
After breakfast drive back to Dar es salaam with packed lunch.
Early afternoon arrival in Dar es salaam and drop off at hotel or Airport for
onward journey.
