Serengeti Jewels

Cheetah waking up – Serengeti, Tanzania
Serengeti Safari Highlights – Ngorongoro National Park, Manyara
This 4 day Serengeti safari covers all the Northern Circuit with an emphasis on the Serengeti, providing you with time to experience the highlights of the vast depth and breadth of wildlife, eco-systems and the treasures of a Serengeti safari.
Day 1 – The 4 day Serengeti safari tour starts with lunch in Arusha town at 12:30hrs. At 14:00hrs join your experienced professional safari guide in our 4X4 safari vehicle and drive to Ngorongoro National Park. Dinner and overnight at the lodge. Ngorongoro’s natural beauty ranks it among the most pristine wildernesses on earth. It is the largest intact crater in the world, covering an area of 304 square kilometers. On the crater floor, grassland blends into swamps, lakes, rivers, woodland and mountains – all a haven for wildlife, including the largest predator population in Africa. Its pride and joy, however, is that it remains the last great wild refuge for black rhino. Dinner and overnight at the lodge at Ngorongoro.
Day 2 – Today you will descend 2000 feet (over 600 meters) to the floor of the crater for a half-day crater tour. Explore the forest areas that are inhabited by monkeys and elephants, the lake area, where you may see the flamingos and the open savannah where the lions hunt for food. Lunch at the lodge. Afternoon drive to Serengeti National Park via Olduvai Gorge, the site of Louis and Mary Leakey’s renowned archaeological discoveries. Their findings include some of the man’s earliest known ancestral remains. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Day 3 – Serengeti is Tanzania’s oldest and most popular national park. The Serengeti is famed for its annual migration, when some six million hooves pound the open plains, as more than 200,000 zebra and 300,000 Thomson’s gazelle join the wildebeest’s trek for fresh grazing. The Serengeti offers arguably the most scintillating game-viewing in Africa: great herds of buffalo, smaller groups of elephant and giraffe, and thousands of eland, topi, kongoni, impala and Grant’s gazelle. Enjoy a morning game viewing in the Serengeti for a chance to see the great herds of wildebeest, zebras and gazelles or a pride of lions lounging in the shade. Return to your lodge for lunch, before departing to Lake Manyara.  Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Day 4 – After an early breakfast, you will depart for a morning game drive in Lake Manyara National Park. This is one of the most diverse of Tanzania’s national parks, a tiny (325km²) combination of Rift Valley Lake, dense woodlands and steep mountainside. Manyara is a birding paradise (more than 380 species) as well as hippos, monkeys, tree climbing lions, and many other animals. Mid morning, drive back to Arusha. Lunch at a restaurant in Arusha town. We trust you have enjoyed a true adventure of a lifetime!
You can choose to stay in the following lodges (or we can tailor-make a safari for you with different accommodation choices):
